An anti lock braking system (ABS) sensor is used for determining wheel rotation speed to prevent wheel lock up when braking. The Hall effect ABS sensor consists of a permanent magnet with a Hall effect sensor next to it. The magnetic field strength changes when a magnetism sensitive object passes through the magnetic field of the magnet.

January 10, 2023 by Jason. Your Chevy Equinox’s ABS Light comes on when it fails a self-diagnostic cycle. When on, it indicates that your vehicle does not have Anti-Lock brakes and the safety they provide. Your Equinox’s ABS system uses a system of sensors to determine wheel speed when braking. If one of the wheels starts to lock up, it sess the trailer ABS lamp. The number of blinks displayed on the trailer ABS lamp will correspond to a specific ABS fault. As each manufacturer uses different access meth-ods and each blink code has different meanings, the remainder of the ABS section will be broken down by the brand of ABS system installed on the trailer you wish to test. Note:
If this light is lit up, it means that the ABS system has been triggered and is activated. There are a few other ways to tell if an ABS code is present, but they are less common. These include: -ABS light on the dash is lit up. -The ABS system is making strange noises. -The ABS system is not functioning correctly.
You can check for a positive supply voltage at one of the sensor connector terminals to determine if you have an active sensor type. However, if the supply voltage is missing due to a fault and you then assume the sensor must be passive and perform a resistance check, you can damage a perfectly good active sensor. This will give you two faults.

Completely drain this. Use your rags to wipe the container. Remove the dust cap from the brake caliper’s bleeding port. Then use the correct wrench to loosen the bleeding port rather than completely removing it. Connect your bleeder to the bleeding port using a tube that feeds into a bottle as the process takes place.
